SPCA
The SPCA helps animals in need. They rescue animals that have been injured, abandoned or hurt and make them healthy. The SPCA also helps them find a new home.

Digital Christmas card

Today for Cybersmart we made a digital Christmas card and decorated it using all the skills we learnt. 

I enjoyed doing this activity because it was fun to decorate the card.

Beach rules

For reading we were making our own rules for your safety on the beach.

                                                                         

• No littering.
• Keep your dog on a leash.
•  Read the signs before entering the sea.
•  Adults supervise all children.
• Swim between the flags.
• If you know you can’t swim that far don’t go all the way out to sea.
• Enter the water safely and don’t run.
• Be aware that there might be birds nesting.

Should fireworks be banned?

For reading we made an opinion on if New Zealand should ban fireworks.

This is mine:

I think New Zealand should not ban fireworks for the public but they should only be sold on the 2nd of November to the 5th of November. They might be able to cause fires but if we are careful, there might not be any accidents and if we use safer fireworks that will be safer too. So people should not use dangerous fireworks. Not only that but some people like watching fireworks like me because there colorful, bright and sparkly and in some family’s it might be an important tradition to have fireworks. Most of the accidents that happen with fireworks are because there in the wrong place so if we put the fireworks in a safe place there might not be accidents either.

I enjoyed doing this activity because when you form an opinion it can be what you think.

Fireworks Guyfawkes poem

Since it was just Guyfawkes, we could do descriptive writing or a poem about Guyfawkes.

This is my poem:

Fireworks
Lighting up the sky in the middle of the night, so colorful and bright. A noise so loud, it covers the crowd. With a very eye popping sight. So much to see, beautiful as can be. Fireworks will light up the sky.

I liked doing this writing because I love to make poems.

Think smart

Today in Cybersmart we were learning how to respond when someone is mean online. For that we went on to a web site called Venngage and made an info graphic on ways to be smart when someone is being mean online.

Today we were learning about our school expectations and I made a comic that shows one of our schools expectations. The expectation that I did was including other people.

My process of wearable arts

For term 3 we had a wearable arts show and each of us had to make a costume or design. After we made our costume or design we had to make a slide show about our process in the wearable arts. Our theme was to make a design that protected us if polluting was not to stop.

Free reading

This week for reading we could do free reading and then we had to do a slide show that asked us some questions about our book that we chose. I liked doing this reading activity because I like doing free reading.

My library

For writing we had different options and I chose to write about what my library would look like.

My library

If I had a library it would be colourful and the walls would be covered with purple glitter. The books would be in neat lines and they would be in categories the first row would be chapter books and the next row would be picture books then there would be more rows of other books. There would be giant books that fly around the room well you read and if you're looking for a book then the giant flying books will help you find it. In front of my library would be a rainbow sign and it would say ‘the greatest library’. There would be small blue books scanning your
book for you on the way out. On top of my library roof would be a silver musical book statue that played music for everybody in my library. My library would also be a two story library and on the top floor there would be a machine that cleaned books so if your book was old and dusty the machine would clean it. The machine that cleans books would be a sparkly rose gold colour and the buttons to clean the books would be sparkly platinum. That’s what my library would look like.

I enjoyed doing this activity because I like writing story's.

Dot day

For topic we made a slide for International dot day and we also made art inspired by Kandinsky's dot  art. International dot day is on Friday the 13th of September.

The mysterious door in my backyard

For writing we had to write about a mysterious door in our backyard and what mysterious things are behind the door. I liked doing this writing because you got to use your imagination and make the story up your self.

My crazy story

Angel pig vs Demon pig.

Once upon a time there was a beach only for pigs and along came a pig from the fluffy white clouds,it was angel pig.Then from the stormy clouds came demon pig and both of them were so hungry because the past week the birds were stealing all the food but when they were walking they found a big lumpy pineapple just waiting to get eaten.Angel pig rushed over as fast as she could and then demon pig rushed over even faster,they both really wanted the pineapple.Angel pig used her light powers and got demon pig but then demon pig used her lightning powers to get angel pig.Suddenly angel pig used her powers to get demon pig but accidentally hit the pineapple and  the pineapple went everywhere.
