Naked mole rats

                                                                     Naked mole rats

Naked mole rats also go by the name Sand puppy. This creature is a part of the Heterocephalidae family.

Naked mole rats feed on the roots of plants, they dig underground and find the roots. Something disgusting the Naked mole rat does is eat their own poo for nutrients, it is pretty gross but it  is one of the things it eats.

Underground in dry places is where they live. They can be found in Ethiopia, Somalia and Kenya.

Naked mole rats are known for their looks. People say their ugly or even hideous, some people say their scary looking. They are hairless and their skin is ruff, wrinkly and tough. Their teeth are long and skinny too.

The Naked mole rat is rodent size making them easy prey. Their main predator is snakes and since they live in West Somalia to Kenya, they often get attacked by the Kenyan boa who lives in the same area.

Sapasui recipe

For this weeks writing we had to do something based of Samoa for Samoan language week our reading was based of that too. I did a recipe for a Samoan dish called Sapasui it is very good.

Ingredients:

Beef, 2x packets of vermicelli noodles, soy sauce, canola oil, 2x bulbs of garlic, 1x large brown onion and 1/2 ginger root.

Recipe:

1. Cut your meat into small pieces (around about bite size) and then cook on the stove with oil over medium heat.

2. Then soak all the vermicelli noodles in cold water to soften.

3.Next peel and crush the garlic, do the same thing with the ginger but separately.

4.Peel and slice brown onion.

5.After that trim the vermicelli noodles to shorten them and then drain the water.

6.Add your other ingredients to the meat one at a time.

7.Then start by adding 1/2 a cup of oil then stir.

8.Add a hand full of onion and stir.

9.Add garlic and stir once again.

10.Next just add the remaining onion.

11. Leave it for a few minutes then add enough soy sauce to cover the meat.

12.Simmer for a few minutes before adding vermicelli noodles and bit by bit stir.

13.Stir until the vermicelli noodles look brown.

14.Add 1 cup of water.

15.Cover and leave to cook for 5 minutes.

16.Serve with rice or taro.(Optional)
