For this weeks writing we had to do something based of Samoa for Samoan language week our reading was based of that too. I did a recipe for a Samoan dish called Sapasui it is very good.
Ingredients:
Beef, 2x packets of vermicelli noodles, soy sauce, canola oil, 2x bulbs of garlic, 1x large brown onion and 1/2 ginger root.
Recipe:
1. Cut your meat into small pieces (around about bite size) and then cook on the stove with oil over medium heat.
2. Then soak all the vermicelli noodles in cold water to soften.
3.Next peel and crush the garlic, do the same thing with the ginger but separately.
4.Peel and slice brown onion.
5.After that trim the vermicelli noodles to shorten them and then drain the water.
6.Add your other ingredients to the meat one at a time.
7.Then start by adding 1/2 a cup of oil then stir.
8.Add a hand full of onion and stir.
9.Add garlic and stir once again.
10.Next just add the remaining onion.
11. Leave it for a few minutes then add enough soy sauce to cover the meat.
12.Simmer for a few minutes before adding vermicelli noodles and bit by bit stir.
13.Stir until the vermicelli noodles look brown.
14.Add 1 cup of water.
15.Cover and leave to cook for 5 minutes.
16.Serve with rice or taro.(Optional)
Enjoy
